The family of billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson has until now financially supported Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. However, following the announcement that the former House speaker would officially be pulling out of the race next week, Mr. Adelson and his relatives will now have to decide whether and when they should throw their weight behind, and their cash at, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

President Barack Obama used his weekend radio and Internet address to urge Congress to put an end to the unfair tax system which currently enables the rich to pay a lower rate of tax than the vast majority of the population. Mr. Obama first put forward such a change last September, shortly after billionaire investor Warren Buffett said that he would be happy to be taxed more and pointed out that his secretary was paying a higher rate of tax than he was.
