Many public libraries across the United States are official passport acceptance facilities. This makes getting your passport more convenient than ever! Libraries often offer:

  • Flexible scheduling with evening and weekend hours
  • Knowledgeable staff to help with your application
  • Convenient locations in your community
  • Photo services at some locations

Note: Library passport services are for first-time passport applications and children's passports (Form DS-11). Renewals (Form DS-82) must be done by mail.

What to Bring

  • Completed Form DS-11 (do not sign until instructed)
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate or naturalization papers)
  • Government-issued photo ID

  • Payment for passport fees and execution fee

  • Expedited Service: 2-3 weeks (additional $60 fee)
